Exciting day!

What an exciting day today has been. We’ve had loads of different people coming to the house doing all sorts of things, and imagine my surprise when the postman brought a letter for ME! It is a Christmas card from Molly and Taffy.

XmasCard

Thank You Molly and Taffy, I really like it that you both are on the Christmas card. We haven’t really had time to think about Christmas yet. My folks have been busy decorating! Actually I have been feeling a bit neglected these past few days. All everybody was doing was rushing about in overalls wielding paint brushes … and nobody had time to play!!!

Today a man came with a big roll of carpet and laid it down in the living room. I like it a lot, the floor is soft and bouncy now and smells of sheep …

Carpet

And of course I helped placing all the furniture back in the room.

As you can see my fur is at the ‘woolly mammoth’ stage. I have been promised a Christmas ‘Airedo’. My eyebrows are getting in the way a bit, so I’m going to see Jan and Keith on Monday. (They can do in 3 hours what would take Elke 3 weeks … or more!)

A. T.s biggest fan

Well, we found out something the other night. My folks were watching TV and a chap called Alan Titchmarsh was presenting a wildlife program on which he enlisted the help of a pointer called Quince to help him find some tiny little bird on the ground. So he called him “Quince, come here boy!” Elke said I flew to the TV screen at that point, licked it and remained very attentive. So it appears I’m Alan Titchmarsh’s biggest fan! (I could have found that bird! … eventually)

I’m also a really big fan of nuts, the ones in shells which you can only get at Christmas. They are lip smacking good! The bigger ones are easy to crack but little Hazelnuts are a bit tricky. You have to put your head sideways on the floor to get a good hold of them. Mmmmh … delicious!

We’ve been having quite a few early morning walks lately. It’s been too dark to get good shots of most things (especially moving Airedale in bad light), but we’ve got some nice ones of this!

I’d like to thank everyone for their suggestions regarding my little problem with Elk. Alas, the ball is still in there, but I will set some time aside to do a proper removal. Elk may also lose his eyes, and perhaps a bit of stuffing at the same time.
Other than that we’re keeping our paws and fingers crossed that Jaffa will be ok.

It must be Christmas … no?

It was all moving, moving, moving today. Now we have all this room upstairs everything downstairs got moved (????)

Anyway I found some Christmas crackers from last year behind a cupboard they moved. I like pulling them. So I practiced with these ones.

I found a hat and a piece of paper inside –

Q: Why don’t ducks tell jokes when they’re flying?

A: Because they would quack up.

The hat didn’t fit so I wore it as a new collar for a while but it kept crackling and I didn’t like it much so I pulled it off.

Amelie came this afternoon and I was pretty good, didn’t get too excited and was allowed to have a good old sniffing – she smells sooo lovely. She’s also getting bigger and louder!!!

Finally this evening my folks had the time to play with me and we played ‘Catch’ for a while.

They make me sit and then a ball, or in this case a ring, comes my way and I catch it (well … most of the time).
