Holes and misty mornings

Hi all,

Well, I’ve been quite busy lately … working … as quality control when Dad and Mike dug a hole for a post!

as I know a thing or two about digging … and holes. 🙂 Looks like they made a decent job of this one!

and last weekend I oversaw the refurbishment of the awning which had got very wet and muddy on holiday. This happens on our back garden which hasn’t got any gates to keep me safe at the moment (but Mum has just ordered some 🙂 ) therefor I am attached to a rather long washing line which I manage to wrap around all sorts of things, trip people up and fell a few flowers, shrubs and turn my drinks dish over regularly.

I’ve been busy collecting sticks on my walks …

… and peemailing all my friends.

My busy week ended this morning with a ‘misty’ walk:

Everything was black and white

and the sun really struggled to get through the mist.

But it’s out now and I had my boney treat on the veranda in the sun 🙂

Just look at these! I love it when Mum comes home from shopping. This is 2 weeks worth of snacking!

Life’s good!!!!!

Have a good weekend!

I was only sniffing …

Honest!

But somehow I ended up with a beard full of feathers whilst guarding this morning. I think I found someone’s dinner left-overs.

Actually I ‘sort of’ caught a pheasant myself the other day. Dad and I were walking around the Lakes when we came across this pheasant which was stuck in a small enclosure … great excitement on my part … I dashed in, came out with a mouthful of feathers, dashed in again … and the pheasant stopped running about obviously accepting it’s inevitable fate!  … Well, that’s no fun at all, so I sniffed at it … and walked away. It lived to see another day.

We’ve had a lot of rain in the last 2 weeks and the river by the Lakes was flowing very high. One morning me and Mum found a dead swan there 🙁 That was sad. I had a little sniff around it.

A few days later when we were up there again I saw these two swans on our side of the river quite a way away.

You can just make out the white dot in the distance. These pictures were taken with a phone camera – hence not so good.

Anyway I stopped and looked …

… and eventually sat down to watch them … for 10 minutes.

When I’d finished watching them I carried on past them without bothering them 🙂 I like swans. Later on by the river I was ‘beachcombing’ the bank and found this excellent ball!

Mum said it’s a reward for being such a good boy with the swans!

🙂      🙂

Bye for now.

The Forest of Dean

Hi All!

Me, Mum and Dad had a little holiday in the Forest of Dean, which is just on the border with Wales. We went camping in a Forestry Commission Site called Bracelands. From the site you can walk for miles in the forest, and on our first day we walked down to the river Wye. We found some nice carved seats for Mum and Dad to have a rest.

Conquering Biblins Bridge

We decided to cross the river. Now, the first time we came here I was only 6 months old and I was very scared of going on this bridge. I’m two and a half now so here is how it went …

… not bad, but towards the middle of the bridge my belly was nearly on the floor. This is a really squeaky, swaying bridge, but we made it over to the other side. Things went much better on the way back …

It was a lovely sunny day and we could see a long way ahead.

I’m off the lead most of the time.

This is the coolest place in hot weather …

… under the caravan!!!

Another day we went to Symmonds Yat. It’s a great big mountain rock with a fabulous view over the river Wye. The weather had started to get a little damper by now …

… and over the next days it really deteriorated …

Me and Mum just cuddled up inside the caravan and stayed nice and dry.

The weather turned really windy and wet and we watched people’s awnings being destroyed so Mum and Dad decided it was time to come home – 2 days early. We’ll explore the Brecon Beacons another time.

Tell you what, it was lovely to come home. Hope you all have nicer weather than us at the moment!

Bye for now.
